My name is Michael Foss and I live in the Poplar Grove Airpark(C77), BelAir Estates, in Poplar Grove, IL.
I am 50 years old and have 4 wonderful children, Tanner(7/14/96 – 3/7/16), Drake, Chandler and Ellie and a beautiful wife, Tricia.
I didn’t become interested in flying until my senior year in college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I took a private pilot theory class as an elective and I was hooked. I changed my major from biology (pre-med) to aviation. I finished my degree and started flight instructing part-time while working full-time as a firefighter/paramedic. After a year and a half of instructing and some charter work I got hired by Great Lakes Airlines. I spent almost two years there then went to Air Wisconsin Airlines flying the Dornier 328 and Canadair CRJ-200. Eight years ago I left that job and came to ConAgra Foods. As my two sons are off to college I decided to try my hand at the airlines again with the support of my girl and applied to United Airlines. I’m currently a First Officer on the Boeing 737 based in Chicago’s O’Hare airport and loving every second of it!
My dream of building an RV started in 1999 with my first visit to EAA’s airshow in OshKosh, WI. It has taken me some time to be in a position to build one and I’m pretty excited to finally be there! I’m developing this site to document my progress and to share my passion.
Let me know what you think!
